Google meets Panmure Bridge School

They first introuded there selfs to The LS 1 and 2 block there names are Steve, Teyha, Simon, Caro.

They told us what there carrers used to back in the past before they came to google. They all told us things like they celebrate failures and succesers. Then LS2 and LS1 asked interesting questions like how Google found its name or how they made YouTube.

Then we all started to ask very interesting questions to Steve and his team like how Google got its name or how YouTube was made.  Then  they told us that your job might not exist yet this means that if we have a job in mine we might not do that job but do a better job.

Teyha job is to do digital strategy and she helps businesses grow. Caro leads the  Google Business in NZ  and  inspire others that anything is possible and Simons job is to do  NZ business and break into markets.

What inspire me was celebrate failure and success and don’t make it 10% better make it 10x better.

This was interesting because I did not know how Google got its name.   

 

 

Information Report: Bengal Swamp Tigers

We used our smart searching skills to find facts about the Bengal Swamp Tiger. Once we had found the information we needed we made notes in our own words. We used these notes to help us write our information reports. Information reports give readers with information on a chosen topic by providing them with facts.

LI: to write an information report that informs the reader about the Swamp Tiger.

Swamp tigers also known as Bengal and sundarbans tigers are very rare. People call this the Panthera Tigris Tigris as its scientific name. They mostly are found in the Asian continent. Did you ever know that a grown up male Swamp Tiger can approximately size up to 260 pounds?  

Appearance. The swamp tigers have orange with black stripes and white spots. They also have sharp claws to hunt and powerful chomping  jaws. Its body is very muscular making it very powerful and strong. Its weight is 200 to 260. Its body is very good at camouflaging into the mangrove trees.   

Diet.   The swamp tigers eat mostly meat so there are carnivores. They usually eat Turtles Fishing cats birds Crabs Fish Humans Wild boars Frogs Rats Monkey Fisherman’s  Humans Water monitors and deers. Their most prey were fishermen because of how many humans used to come to hunt them down. As strange as it may seem swamp tigers don’t just eat meat they also eat seafood.   

Habitat. These beasts are located in Bengal and its continent is asia. Their habitat is small because of deforestation. The bengal is a mangrove kind of forest. It is a hot, muddy place. They protect and roam their habitat from being attacked. They hide among the trees of the mangrove forest. It’s covered by salt water.

 Behavior. They act strong and defensive against the humans. The way they kill their prey is by sneaking up to them from hiding amongst the trees. There they have good swimming and hunting. They mostly hunt their weakest prey. They are good at camouflaging into the trees. There are hunters. Did you know that there are only about 100 swamp tigers left in the world.? Are you aware that the swamp tigers are good at killing in the water?

Now in 2024 the swamp tigers are endangered. Because deforestation and places are  expanding. We should save them by respecting their homes and cleaning the environment.

Chinese Lantern Festival

LI: to use smart searching skills to research correct information and research about the Chinese Lantern Festival.

For this task you needed to be in a group of 4.

First we started getting researh of facts and what they do in chinese lantern festival then we  added in good photos of chinese larterns I went and got researh of some of the food they eat  on this day and how are chinese larterns are made.

I enjoyed this activity because I did not know much about the chinese lantern festival and what they do.

 

Swamp Tigers

LI:To create a multi modal DLO that tells others about Swamp Tigers.

Our challenge was to make a slideshow for swamp tigers we researched about what it looks  like what it  eats what  it like to do and how it acts we and interesting facts  of the swamp tiger  took notes of the research we did.

Next we went in to a gruop of 2 or 3 I was with AJ and Mele we put in the research we did in to the slideshow and made it a presentation.

Last we went and  and looked for a video  of the swamp tiger then we  look for a gruop of 2 so we can show them the interesting things we know about the swamp tiger.

I enjoyed this activity because it was interesting to learn about  swamp tiger.

 

3D Shapes

LI: to know the name and properties of 3D shapes.

This task we made a slide for 3d shapes and what are the use for.

First I  went and got my group my group was AJ and Aarush we did Rectangular Prism and Cylinder first.

Next we did sphere and cube we put how much sides it has and how much corners it has and it is name.

Last we did pyramid and cone we did  how much sides and corners they have.

I found this  task interesting.  Because I  did not konw about 3d shapes.

Addition Algorithm

LI: To calculate the sum of whole numbers using algorithm.

This task I made a DLO explaining what addition algorithm.

To do this I did 9+4 that makes 13 so put the 1 from the 13 to the 0 that will make it a 1 then do 1 + 5 = 6 then  leave the 2  and that gives you 263.

Subtraction Algorithm

LI:To calculate the difference of whole numbers, using algorithms.

This task I made a DLO for subtraction algorithm.

To do this the first digit goes and subtracts the bottom number, if the number is lower than the bottom then you borrow a number that is on the left. After you done and worked out your answer you put it under the line and your finished.

Provocation

LI: To consider both perspectives.

This task I made a provocation  DLO for did The crime fit The punishment.

First I went and look for my group my group was David kale and aarush look up the men that was involved in heist of the medals.

Next we did Perspective: A Perspective: b and Our Opinion Perspective: A  was for why do we think they took the money and Perspective: b  was for why we think they needed it.

Last me and my group put up two images.

I found this activity fun because we got to learn about provocation.

Water Safety

LI: Is about safe techniques in an emergency in the ocean.

This task we made a DLO for  water safety.

First on tuesday we  learn about water safety and we got to pick make a  poster or a animation.

Next we wrote about chain  and huddle and Scuba dive and these are the simple  things to do in the water if you are trying to survive in the sea.

Last we add images to our poster and animation.

I found this instresting because i didnt know much about water safety.

Healthy Eating

LI: To know how to eat healthy food.

This task was to make a DLO for healthy eating .

First I went and pick my partner and my partner was jacob and we wrote about how to keep a heathly diet.

Next we wrote about portion sizes this is what portion size  means that  the amount of food that you actually eat.

Last we add a image that we attribute.

I found this instresting because i didnt know that much about portion sizes.
